ABOUT KELLY MCGRATH

Your expert guide through uncertain times.

I’m a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Law Mediator, a Collaborative Law trained attorney, a Restorative Justice Facilitator, and a Conflict Coach.

I know that mediation is more powerful, less expensive, and less costly than a legal battle.

I help you settle legal disputes with peace and privacy, without putting you through the usual traumatic battle tactics or cold court procedures.

Bringing together 15+ years of experience and training in Restorative Justice, Trauma Informed Care, Non Violent Communication, and Conscious Contracts®, my goal is to help you bounce back from major life hardships, becoming even more deeply rooted in your sense of peace.

I want you to not only be legally secure, I want you to experience a mindset shift so you can heal, clear up any chaos that’s holding you back, and begin to build a fresh future.

Since becoming a lawyer in 2004, I’ve gathered a deep and wide understanding of compassionate listening and mediation practices that are remaking the profession for the better.

As a member of J. Kim Wright’s Integrative Law Movement, I’m part of a movement of lawyers around the country who stay out of court and help people resolve their conflicts using their values and strengths. Mediation is a way to do that and take control of your life.

 “Lawyers are healers of conflict.”

- J. Kim Wright

Want to spread the word about Peacebuilding Practices?

Kelly McGrath, Esq., is a dynamic presenter, creating unique workshops and experiences teaching effective communication skills, mindset shifts, Parent Caregiver Communication Training, trauma/resiliency, and conflict resolution. Her hands-on approach and experiential learning activities create a safe and engaging place to learn and try out new skills.

Kelly offers limited Executive Coaching where she works one-on-one with CEOs to help them build and lead teams who work well together. Often CEOs need to do some inner work before they can reach their full potential leading a team. We can support that inner work with structured sessions as they face self-limiting beliefs and other mindset traps and learn to control their inner dialogue so they can be the leader they were meant to be.

Contact us today so we can help you create a powerful experience for your team to learn about effective communication skills, mindset shifts, how trauma shows up and what can be done, and conflict resolution at home and work.

Kelly is certified in Conscious Contracts® and can help you create an agreement based on your vision, mission, values, and a specific conflict resolution policy based on your needs. The conflict resolution policy is a pre-condition to filing a lawsuit, keeping your company out of court. Learn more about Conscious Contracts® here.

If you didn’t know a Mediator...now you do!

Here’s what I’ve been up to over the last decade and change...

●      People usually come to me during the worst times in their life. It’s traumatic! That’s why I got a Professional Certificate in Trauma and Resiliency from Florida State University, so that I can hold space for grief and post-traumatic stress. I’m prepared to help you get out of fight, flight or freeze mode and see your legal conflicts resolved with peace and privacy.

●      I believe we don’t need to be bullies to get our needs met. I learned Nonviolent Mediation from John Kinyon  and trained in Nonviolent Communication with Dr. Cindy Bigbie, so that I can help you identify and secure your needs, set clear boundaries, and speak up for what you want without arousing conflict.

●      I’m a Certified Family Law Mediator, and trained in Collaborative Divorce, so I can guide you through divorce while minimizing harm and maximizing well being —  particularly for the kids!

●      My training in Conscious Contracts® has taught me how to dispel adversarial dynamics so that my clients feel really good going into negotiations!

●      After training to be a Restorative Justice Facilitator at Restorative Response Baltimore, in 2013, I founded the Florida Restorative Justice Association. We are a non-profit working to bring Restorative Practices to the adult justice system in Florida so that we can provide healing from harm and build more resilient communities.

●      I served as Assistant General Counsel at the Florida Department of Children and Families from 2013-2019,working to provide essential protective care to marginalized communities. This experience gives me a real world understanding of the systemic inequities that often put hardworking, responsible families on the brink of collapse, helping me hold compassion and bigger visions for my clients.

●      My ongoing work on the Conflict Resolution Team at the Miccosukee Land Co-op since 2014 has shown me firsthand how mutual healing and relationship restoration between friends and neighbors leads to stronger communities.

●      Walking in nature make me feel whole. As we work towards creating peace and security in your life, I’m also here to help you identify and prioritize what you need to thrive during stressful times.

●      I’m passionate about giving back. Currently I volunteer with foster families every week to facilitate conflict resolution between teens and foster parents, teaching them Nonviolent Communication and helping everyone get their needs met.
